{click to see bigger.. sorry for the collage, it's just faster for my slow internet}
okay so i already left and came back on multiple jet planes...and it was rough.
Mack got sick a few days before we left....sick with teething. so she had the WORST runny nose, was so tired and cranky... but rightly so, teeth are horrible. She did good on our drive up despite being ripped out of bed at 6 am to get to tucson in time for our flight, until she tossed her binkie to where i couldn't grab it, so she screamed for 30 minutes, and i found it when we were 5 minutes from parking...and she fell asleep. great, right? no. i had to wake her up and unload a carry on bag, checked bag, car seat, stroller, toddler, purse, and myself...belly and all.
mack was nice at the airport while we waited to board, until she started pushing her stroller into people and i took it from her.. she yelled. we got on the plane, she yelled. finally got her to sleep on the plane and she was out...and so was i. then we had to change planes. NOT COOL. this plane was full and the little girl next to us was SO not okay with mack getting anywhere near her "bubble". so i had to confine mack and again, she yelled. this time, no sleep. luckily these flights were quick.
we got to san jose and she was happy. we fed her and put her down for a nap and she was happy. It was really fun to go see my sister and her family. i miss living close to them. i got to spend a week there. it was filled with lots of birthday fun for leah beah's third birthday.
My sister and i also got to spend a day together and go to "the city" as those nor cal residents refer to San Francisco. I was hesitant at this because mack didn't come. We have NEVER left mack with anyone. she always comes with us. good thing i trust ryan, and he so nicely offered to watch her and leah so me and maren could spend some time together. he even changed her nasty diapers (the kind you get from drinking mango juice..he he he) TWICE!.. and he was patient with my annoying texts, asking how mack was doing. thanks ryan!
While in the city, i know you will all be jealous to know that we went to alamo square. what's alamo square? well, it's where the opening credits of Full House are filmed.. DUH!?! yes, we are nerds and went to alamo square to see the painted ladies (the houses in the credits) and we even sang and filmed ourselves singing the theme song... people stared...we felt stupid..and cool at the same time! I also got to go ON the golden gate bridge...i have only seen it from alcatraz, so it was fun to actually go on it.
mack and leah shared a room the whole week and did oh so good napping and sleeping at night together. they even woke up and played with each other from their cribs and we could here them laughing and giggling. Mack loves her cousin Leah.
Our trip ended all too soon but the flights home were MUCH better. Mack slept the ENTIRE first flight and played with me, nicely, the ENTIRE second flight and even was off and on sleeping for most of the 2 hour drive home...i did have to sing to her for the last 45 minutes straight to keep her from crying, but i'm okay if that's all it takes to not pull over.
Thanks laytons for letting us come and stay. we had a blast and hope we were good guests. and thanks ed for letting us leave you for a week.. especially since we left you over your TWO year mark for BP..(that's right it's been TWO years folks!) We are so proud of you Ed and so glad to be back home with you!
