baby no name, has a name.

I woke up on wednesday, July 3rd and headed to my 38 week appointment.  I had all 3 kids in tow and was tired.  Dr. Durfee could tell.  I got checked.  I was a 4.  I was sore due to baby boy being so low, as in head-about-to-fall-out low.  It was causing a nerve to get pinched resulting in me having falls.  Durfee could finally {legally} set up an induction day for me since my water has problems breaking on it's own.

She scheduled me in. July 7th. 7 am.  I was set. the end in sight.  She apologized she couldn't do more right then, but to call her if i needed her.  love her.

I went about my day.  Family costco trip that night.  papa johns trip after.  woofed me down some pizza and had great family time.  Got home and was having trouble standing while getting kids food for them. Contractions were ranging from 2-12 mins.  not super regular so i ate dinner.  still having pains that aren't going away by resting or standing or crouching or stretching.  I cried.  it hurt.  it's never hurt when my water was intact.

I called my mom bawling that i didn't want to go in cause i didn't want to get sent home but that i was dying.  she basically said stop being an idiot and go in. {ok. not in those words but she convinced me to stop crying and go in}.  Kenz came in to check on me {cause i had been crying} and i told her i was going to the hospital.  Excitedly she ran to Edward and said mama is leaving.  Ed told me not to go cause i'd just get sent home, and that i still have 4 more hours till July 4th so i needed to hold the baby in anyway {we were aiming for a patriotic baby}.  I said stay home, i'll call ya if they keep me, if not i'll come home but this hurts to bad to sit around.

Contractions were every 5-6 minutes the whole drive there.  Checking in they were about 2-3 and the registration clerk started going faster, noticing my discomfort.  I got put straight in a room and was checked.

an 8.  yup.  baby was on his way, and fast.

They rushed to get antibiotics in me due to my GBS+ ness. {but they didn't get much in}.  They called Durfee to come in cause i didn't want the on call dr.  at 8:30 she was on her way.  I called Edward and told him i had a neighbor coming to sit with the kids but to get his butt to the hosptial.  at 8:45 i still had no dr. and no edward.  Then  they informed me my dr. lives 30 minutes away...what?!.  I was getting nervous about her making it.  at about 8:57 the nurse started breaking my bed down and preparing to catch this baby herself.  She couldn't feel my water so we were unsure if it had broken yet or not.  at 9 pm in walks Durfee---straight into her operating scrubs and right behind her walked Edward--straight to holding my leg.  Durfee didn't' find my water at first but after push one, she found it and broke it.  A long 9 minutes later {having to push not on contractions because baby dropped O2 levels...they gave me air for a second... he turned his head on the way out and a vacuum was used and NICU called in on delivery.}  I heard "Get NICU in here" and screamed and pushed and screamed and cried begging baby to get out of me.

Seriously, 9 minutes from urge to push/water breaking.  baby was here.
Still unreal to me because i was planning on being induced sunday.  i've never just gone into labor.  i've always been induced.  so it was very fast and crazy.  hurt like hell and i told ed i was okay never doing it again.

He checked out perfect.  i later found out NICU was a precaution due to the vacuum being used. whew!

He was still no name for a little.  Well Ragnar was the nickname {and still is today}.

When the hustle and bustle settled down and it was me and ed, i said, how about Nolan.  he said, "i can do Nolan."

So, welcome baby no name.
So glad you have a name.
Nolan Alexander Marshall.
