you've had a birthday...

...shout HOORAY!
That's right. I am the lucky one who had a birthday.  I decided this year, i would stop complaining {one of my goals} and enjoy my birthday...rather than still be bitter about my birthdays in general for the last 10 years {all because i was a stupid 15 year old who ruined her own 16th birthday...}

So, enjoy it i did.
My day started off great.  {well bad mommy moment, i didn't even hear E wake up} but ed got up at 6:45 to calm E down and played with the kids till almost 8! {yup, i didn't wake up till 8!}  I was woken up by my kids jumping in bed with me giving me the Birthday card they colored for me.  So cute. {side note: Ed traced both their hands, a new mack favorite thing to do, and Mack and E basically have the same size hand!}

Anyway, we got dressed and headed to Sierra Vista for the day.  We continued my birthday tradition of Ed taking me to Denny's for breakfast.  Then we ran some errands, priced out projects we wanna do, and grabbed mack some lunch and headed over to Ryan & Tara Huish's house.  They so kindly watched our kids for us so Ed could take me on a date!  Let me tell you, it was hard for me to leave them because we've never left them with anyone besides family.  But, i knew they were in good hands.. and their kids are fun for my kids to play with.

So, Ed and I went to go see "Little Fockers".  It was funny. {not as funny as "Meet the Parents", but not many sequels can be as good as the first}.  Then we went and picked up our kids...who i'm told, did a good job, even if tara was lying to make me feel good.. i'll take it cause they were both happy when we picked them up. :)  We headed over to Panda Express and got dinner and headed home.  We took some pictures {cause i love to and Ed agreed only because it was my day and i could do what i wanted} Then the kids went to bed...nicely for me might i add {even if mack was sleeping by her door, again!}  Ed and I watched some shows and went to bed.

it was a good day.
Thanks for all the birthday, calls, texts, FB, emails, and gifts. i was spoiled.
I do have to say, the greatest gift i got this year, made me cry.  i still tear up thinking about it and i wish i had it on film, but i don't...but i'd like to thank Bean for giving me the BEST rendition of Happy Birthday I've ever gotten.  ever. whoever invented the switch is a freaking genius.
and yes, mare wins for giving me the most birthday wishes every way possible...minus in person..but that one is understandable.

now on to the part i know you all want to see, the pictures..not the novel!
the pictures of mack in her jammies.. she is modeling the awesome ear warmers tara MADE for me.  how awesome is that, she watches my kids for free AND gives me a sweet gift!  love it.

these next ones i stole from tara {sorry...} but these were while Ed and I were at the movie...
Goio and E

Penelope and E {you would think they were closer in age by looks, but no, Pen is 4 months older, exactly. And she walks already.. totally looks funny like mack did being so small and walking. love it.}

the kiddos... Pen, Goio, E and Mack {of course she is picking her nose.}

  3. I would absolutely not lie to make you feel good! From one parent to another, I appreciate knowing the truth about how my kids behaved while I was out and they were fabulous! I fully expected some kind of meltdown at some point but they were incredibly laid back. Chicken nuggets and curious george must be the perfect distraction :)

  4. i love that mackenzie and i love that she's picking her nose. can she make me one of those headbands? CUTE! glad you liked leah's birthday song. she was spot on, wasn't she?! i'm certain she knew the song and exactly what was coming next, which is why she was so good at hitting the switch. woot woot! happy bday.
