er...

I've never had to go to the er in my life.. nor have i ever wanted to... but sunday, i had to.  poor mack and her STUPID teeth are going to be the death of me.  NO doctor believes her fevers get so high just for teeth.. until they check her out for EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING comes back negative.  This time was scary cause we were getting 107 and 106 on the thermometer {and even checked to see if it was broken by getting mine and ed's temps which were norm 98s} so after baths and meds weren't bringing it down, she wasn't sleeping and didn't want to eat or drink.. just yell at us.  we took her to the er and sure enough she really was 105.6..they stripped her down and attacked her with cold towels.. i did take the chance to have  a mean mommy moment and took pictures of ed having to pin her down while the staff put towels all over her.  as you can see.. she was thrilled by all this.

they checked her for ear infections, nose swabs, throat swabs (strep), urine sample fo ra UTI, chest x-ray for RSV.. and guess what?  ALL NEGATIVE!!!!  we got her temp to 100 by the time we left and they started her on an antibiotic. Ed and i thought for sure e would come that night with how stressed i got over this.  I was BAWLING when they straight cathed mack for her urine sample.. those are uncomfortable for an adult and i wanted to go take macks place knowing how bad caths suck!  but by the time we left she was laughing and running on the bed... and even slept from 10 till 6 for us!  that was nice.. but now, she has no fever {thankfully} but yells going to bed and refuses naps (she is a textbook sleeper with the 11-12 hours at night and 5 hours worth of naps this age still should get) she is only taking an hour nap..if that..each day and sleeping like crap.  i told her thanks, but she can stop preparing me for my sleepless nights when e comes.. that's what e is for:)  she still has yet to listen to me.
