This weekend we had the opportunity to go with some friends up to their family cabin on mt. graham, near safford, AZ. (thanks swyers!!)
We picked this weekend because saturday was ed's 29th birthday!!! and monday is sundee swyers birthday, so we took a little break to celebrate.
We left thursday night and stayed in Pima...then drove up the mountain friday morning. I FINALLY GOT A FALL!!!! yay! this cabin is truly a cabin, no electricity or heat (just by fire)..but there was water. I loved the nightly (and daily) fires, the layers at night, the wooded area, the walks outside, the wildlife.. and best of all..mack loved it all too!!!
We survived the below 40 nights..even if we had to bring mack in bed with us for part of the night since her hands felt like ice cubes...we made it through with a family sleepover. We even brought gus.. he had the time of his life running wild, until the last night he got sprayed by a skunk..poor dog didn't know what to do and the dang skunk sprayed him and then took his food!
anyway, we had a blast and ed loved the get-a-way to relax on his birthday, now it's back to work!
Awww... that sounds really happy! I bet Josh would have loved that for his birthday. He turned 29 this month too, but instead of cabin/nature stuff we did kayaking in a high end Newport Beach bay. It was almost depressing to see all the multimillion dollar homes along the water front. Yes, the same ones we will never have nor be close to having.

ReplyDeleteWe had a blast. Glad you guys were able to come. You are welcome to the cabin any time. Well they close the road in November due to snow but feel free to go up as much as you want next year. It's super fun for 4th of July and Labor Day up there. HUGE party.
