7 weeks old...

even though that is technically tomorrow, we will just say that mack is 7 weeks old! man the time is flying. We just went to her 6 week check up today (for some reason they wouldn't let me make it till she was almost 7 weeks but oh well). She is doing great...and growing like a weed.

Mackenzie is now...
10 lbs 9 oz.... yeah, fatty mcgee over here.
22.5 inches long

she also has what they call torticollis (i'm sure i spelled that wrong) but for those of you have noticed she favors her head to the right side. Her dr. told us to do stretching exercises with her and she should develop fine. It was just something that occured in me while pregnant...basically i smashed her right cheek into her right shoulder and she didn't have room to move so her sternocleidomastoid (aka neck) muscle is tight. but over all she is looking great.

now to the sad part... yes it brought tears to my eyes.. hear it for yourself and if it DOESN'T make you sad.. you have no heart! jk, but seriously.. it breaks my heart when she cries like this...i hate taking her to get shots.

Make photo slide shows at www.OneTrueMedia.com
showing off her cool band-aids that she got to wear.. she is such a champ!

  1. Those ARE cute bandages! And that girl has some LUNGS! So sad. It was cute to see Ed try to calm her down. :)

  2. p.s. i just had leah listen to it (through headphones since our computer doesn't have speakers). she rarely sits through an entire movie with the headphones in...and she did. she seemed VERY concerned for cousin Kenzie. She just said, "Oh no."

  3. One of my former bosses' children had the same neck thing. His wife was pregnant and had a tumor growing next to the baby's head. She said she kept expecting the baby to not survive through the pregnancy and she did! The worst that came from it was the neck thing and they just did physical therapy and it was fine.

  5. Awww...I always hated immunizations. With Val I made the decision to not get them immunized, then I read about all the diseases they could get and how much worse they could be, so I got them immunized...poor things.

  6. Awe, that little cry is so sad... that nurse just went straight for it though, no hesitations! Poor little thing.

  7. It's so sad to hear her cry so hard that she stops breathing. I just wanted to pick little pookie up and cuddle her. And sooo sweet of Leah to be concerned. Gotta love the cousins.

  10. Congrats! Mackenzie is adorable how fun to have a little girl to dress up and buy all those fun outfits for. Ed its good to see you doing great and with a cute family. We lived in Glendale , AZ while Paul was finishing his Masters-the winters were fabulous. Kelli good luck with the sleeping arrangements our 1st (Logan) slept with us til he was 3 and Porter who is 7 months has never slept with us-so whatever works for you.

  11. Hey my niece Kenslee had the same neck thing. They did the neck exercises but also had to end up wearing a helmet (because their pediatrician didn't catch the problem until she was like 6 months old). It will work and help a lot. Good luck!
