So i was able to spend a wonderful week with my sister and her family in san jose california. It was perfect timing for this trip i have had planned for a couple months because it ended up that i left the same day ed left.. so we said out goodbyes at the airport :( but i was able to get cheered up by the laytons as soon as i landed.. they helped the first week alone go by smoothly. Here are the highlights of the week.. thanks laytons for letting me come crash on your floor!

We were able to go to San Francisco and take a tour of alcatraz. it was fun.. i volunteered to carry leah and had a fun time.. even when it started to down pour and she was sleeping and i tried to cover her... luckily ryan was a quick thinker and ran and got a poncho to put over us.. leah was a little scared when she woke up and only saw blue.
The week i went happened to be Leah's 1st birthday... i haven't seen her since she was 3 months old so i was thrilled i could be there to celebrate the big #1! maren did the monthly photo shoot and leah looked adorable, there was a birthday party for leah's cousin jack (my cousin jeff's baby) who was born the same day and their friend tyler mcphie who turned one a few days later. then she got ANOTHER party when ryan got home from work. It was fun, and maren made her the coolest cake ever!!

me and leah! i got to wake up to leah every morning by her pinching my eyelashes and pulling them! then i got to give her a bath a few times.. and babysat one night so maren and ryan could go out. Also her cake is the ballerina at the bottom.
I had a wonderful time visiting them watching the office every night.. spending time with my favorite sister and playing with dotes. Thanks laytons for the best week ever! i can't wait to see you all in april!
KB, I'm glad you were able to spend some time with Leah (and Maren & Ryan) - thanks for giving her lots of kisses for me and teaching her how to ugly dance. Love the photo of her kissing you.
